Cleaning-services marketplace app

Customers in Saudi Arabia describe a job once and get offers from approved providers, in one mobile app for both sides.

The challenge

A platform that connects customers in Saudi Arabia with cleaning providers: home and office cleaning, AC, tank and sofa washing, pest control, furniture moving and more. Before it, customers called several providers just to compare prices, and providers had no steady source of jobs.

What I built

  • One app for both sides: a single mobile app serves customers and providers.
  • Describe the job once: text or a voice note, up to 8 photos, and a pin on the map.
  • Matching in waves: the job goes to approved providers by city, service and availability. Providers reply with a price and duration, and the customer compares offers and ratings, then accepts one.
  • Order follow-up: in-order chat with photos, completion evidence and confirmation, ratings, and disputes with escalation.
  • Provider onboarding: ID, commercial registration and tax certificate, with admin approval and reminders before documents expire.
  • Commission ledger: settlements, payment receipts, PDF statements and credit limits. The platform never holds customers' money.
  • Admin panel: an Arabic panel with analytics, exports, bulk notifications and an activity log.

Tech

The app is built in Flutter in five languages: Arabic by default, plus English, Urdu, Bengali and Hindi. The backend is a Node.js API on PostgreSQL, with a separate queue worker for matching, expiry and reminders, and off-site backups with restore drills.

Outcome

I built the app, the API and the admin panel alone, and delivered them to the client for acceptance testing. The client's name is withheld, and the screenshots use demo data.

Tell me about one process

If a process in your company still runs on spreadsheets and group chats, tell me about it. I'll tell you honestly whether a custom system is worth it.
