Shopify to Salla sync engine
Products and prices flow from Shopify to Salla, and stock syncs both ways, for a merchant selling on both stores.

The challenge
A merchant selling on both Shopify and Salla needs products and quantities to match in both stores, so they never sell an item that has already run out in the other store.
What I built
- Product sync: products, variants, prices and images go from Shopify to Salla.
- Stock sync: both ways, through a delta ledger, so a sale or cancellation in either store updates the other.
- Incoming events: webhooks from both stores, with signature checks and duplicate-event suppression.
- Queues: three BullMQ queues with rate limiting on both stores' APIs and retries on failure.
- Automatic upkeep: the Salla connection token refreshes itself, and four scheduled jobs reconcile the stores regularly.
- Monitoring: Telegram alerts and an Arabic operations dashboard showing sync progress, errors and the latest stock changes.
Tech
The backend is Node.js and TypeScript on Express, with SQLite, and BullMQ on Redis for the queues.
Outcome
I built the engine in February 2026. The screenshots use demo data.

Tell me about one process
If a process in your company still runs on spreadsheets and group chats, tell me about it. I'll tell you honestly whether a custom system is worth it.
