Clickable prototype of a private social-occasions platform
A clickable prototype of a Saudi platform where families share occasions only with people they know, with guest RSVPs and a host dashboard.

The challenge
A platform where Saudi families publish their occasions (weddings, a melka, graduations, newborns, condolences) and only people the host actually knows can see them. Today invitations go out as images on WhatsApp: the host can't tell who opened one or who is coming, and private occasions leak. Before the full build, I designed a clickable prototype the client could use to approve the product.
What I built
- Occasions feed: 14 occasion types, with Gregorian and Hijri dates and times relative to prayer, such as "after Isha". Condolences get their own calm design.
- Create an occasion: five steps with a live preview: type, privacy and invitees, location, date and time, and cover.
- Privacy model: public and private occasions, circles, and contact matching by hashed phone number, with 13 tested scenarios.
- Guest link: guests reply with just their phone number and add the date to their calendar.
- Host dashboard: who was invited, who viewed and through which channel, who is coming, and reminders for those who haven't replied.
- Admin panel: 16 screens with role permissions across 13 sections.
Tech
The prototype is built with Next.js and TypeScript, Arabic first and right-to-left. It handles Saudi mobile numbers and Arabic text with tests, and an end-to-end test walks the whole demo flow on phone and desktop.
Outcome
Status: the full version is being built. The client's name is withheld, and the screenshots are from the prototype with demo data.

Tell me about one process
If a process in your company still runs on spreadsheets and group chats, tell me about it. I'll tell you honestly whether a custom system is worth it.
