B2B furniture marketplace connecting manufacturers with Gulf design offices

Release 1 of a platform that links furniture manufacturers in China and Turkey with interior-design offices in the Gulf: the manufacturer side.

The challenge

Interior-design offices and project buyers in the Gulf relied on trade fairs and catalogs sent by email and WhatsApp, with no up-to-date product data and no way to check a supplier. The platform connects them with furniture manufacturers, mainly in China and Turkey. Release 1 is the manufacturer side.

What I built

  • Manufacturer registration: three steps with a business license; the operator approves or rejects with a reason.
  • Catalog editor: a size and color matrix with a price and SKU per variant, photos, a 3D viewer, spec sheets, and a checklist that blocks publishing until the data is complete.
  • Import and stock: Excel product import with a row-by-row error preview before it runs, and stock edits made directly or by file, with every change logged.
  • Machine translation: product data is translated into four languages, and manual edits are kept.
  • Public catalog: product pages that show visitors no prices and no private files.
  • Admin console: approvals, catalog oversight, leads, failed jobs and an activity log.
  • Trade-fair sign-up: QR links for each staff member and invitation messages in two languages.

Tech

I built it with Next.js and TypeScript on PostgreSQL. Each manufacturer's data is isolated in the app and again in PostgreSQL (Row-Level Security), checked by 72 database test files. Four languages with full right-to-left Arabic, accessibility tests in Arabic and English, and a mobile Lighthouse score between 94 and 98. It runs in Docker with backups every 6 hours and a tested restore.

Outcome

I built it alone in October 2026, and Release 1 went live in production in time for manufacturer sign-ups at a trade fair in China. The client's name is withheld, and the screenshots use demo data.

Tell me about one process

If a process in your company still runs on spreadsheets and group chats, tell me about it. I'll tell you honestly whether a custom system is worth it.
